Terms of Service

By using mimi.io, you agree to these terms. Please read them.

The service

mimi.io provides a web-based research library, AI-powered literature synthesis engine, ATS resume builder (Atelier), and candidate-job vector matching radar (Compass). The service is provided "as is" and may change or be discontinued at any time.

Your account

You must sign in with a valid Google account to use mimi.io. You are responsible for any activity that occurs under your account. Do not share your account credentials.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the service.

Your content

You retain ownership of all paper metadata, notes, resume content, and data you add to your library or create in Atelier. By using the service, you grant mimi.io a non-exclusive licence to store and process that content in order to provide the service.

Resume documents created in Atelier are your intellectual property. mimi.io does not claim any ownership over CV content, bullet points, or career materials you produce.

You must not use mimi.io to store or process content that is illegal, infringing, or harmful to others.

AI assistant & synthesis

The AI assistant uses third-party language models (Groq) for literature synthesis in Veritas and bullet point generation in Quill. AI responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. Do not rely on AI-generated citations or analysis without verifying them against the original sources.

mimi.io's zero-hallucination architecture constrains AI synthesis to your imported paper set, but output should still be verified.

mimi.io applies a daily AI request quota, shown in the app's usage indicator. We reserve the right to change these limits.

Billing & subscriptions

There is no self-service paid checkout in the current release. The app is provided as an open-access public beta with the daily AI quota described above.

Enterprise deployments, institutional licences, and support agreements are arranged by separate written agreement via the Enterprise page. If self-serve paid tiers are introduced, their billing terms will be published here before any charge is made.

Acceptable use

You may not:
• Use the service to scrape or redistribute academic databases at scale
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits or quotas
• Use Compass Radar data for unauthorized recruiting or data harvesting
• Reverse-engineer the vector matching algorithms
• Use the service for commercial data harvesting without our written permission
• Use the service in any way that violates applicable law

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, mimi.io shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. The total liability of mimi.io shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which for free-tier users is zero).

mimi.io is not liable for job application outcomes, interview results, or hiring decisions based on resumes created in Atelier or job matches surfaced by Compass Radar.

Intellectual property

The mimi.io platform, including its design, codebase, YC Grid design system, AI synthesis architecture, and vector matching algorithms, is the intellectual property of the mimi.io team. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the platform without written permission.

Open-source components used in mimi.io are licensed under their respective licences (MIT, Apache 2.0, etc.) as documented in the project repository.

Changes

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via the app or by email.
